    Application of Bradford’s Law of Scattering to the Economics Literature During 2011-2020

    The study has been conducted 330 journal articles contributions with a total of 9527 citations contributed by 763 authors published in volume 78, no. 309 to volume 87, no. 348 of the source Journal,  Economica between 2011 to 2020. An analysis of the different forms of literature, subject-wise distribution, ranking of top 24 cited journals, and the application of Bradford’s law in Economics literature has been made. Results indicate that major forms of literature are journal 6173 (64.795%), followed by Books 2097 (22.011%) and Working Papers 569 (5.972%). Economica has published an average of 33 articles per volume. The average number of citations appeared at 238.175 citations in each issue. ‘American Economic Review’, published from the USA, tops the list with a tally of 481 (7.792%) citations, ‘Journal of Political Economy’ with 399 (6.464%) citations, published from USA and followed by ‘Economic Journal’ with 335 (5.427%) citations from the UK as the third position. Economics literature is not fit well Bradford’s Law. Leimkuhler model is also applied to verify Bradford’s law of scattering in the field of Economics.https://dorl.net/dor/ 20.1001.1.20088302.2022.20.1.27.

    Author Productivity and the Application of Lotka\u27s Law in the Field of Horticulture

    Citation study of 10,845 citations appended to 80 doctoral dissertations in the field of horticulture awarded by Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV), Mohanpur and Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya (UBKV), Cooch Bihar, West Bengal has been carried out to determine the authorship pattern and productivity to cited articles during 1991-2010. The study revealed that researchers are mainly used journal articles 8437 (77.796%). Generally Loka’s law describes the frequency of publications by authors in a given subject/ discipline. In this paper, an attempt has been made to study the applicability of the Lotka’s law to the publications of horticulture scientists in BCKV and UBKV. A Kolmogorov-Smirnv (K-S) test has been conducted to find out as to what extent, the author productivity conforms to the Lotka’s law. But this test is applied for the fitness of Lotka’s law does not fit to the horticulture literature

    COVID-19 and Web-based Services: A Content Analysis of Library Associations\u27 Web Pages of India

    Due to COVID-19 pandemic lockdown situation, every academic institutions and professional associations has been affected with corona virus. We will stay safe by maintaining social distancing and using masks, globes, face shield and washing hands frequently with water and soap. Researchers and academicians in India are completely at home and follow the COVID-19 guidelines to help him, family and community stay safe. In this critical phases of COVID-19 situation, the present study attempts to identify the web-based services provided by the library associations of national importance in India during this COVID-19 pandemic environment. This paper has tried to evaluate the content of the webpages of fourteen selected library associations of national importance in India during April to June, 2021. The content information was collected through searching, tabulated and analyzing those Library Associations’ webpages for interpretation and discussion purposes. After evaluating the content of webpages of selected fourteen library associations in India, it is found that IASLIC, Kolkata provided maximum information in their webpage score with 32 points out of 50 points, which is the highest points score among the fourteen library associations of national importance in India, followed by CGLA, Dehradun with 25 points score as 2nd highest score and DLA, Delhi with 23 points as 3rd highest score. The results of the study will be more useful to the developers and authorities of library associations’ webpages for quality of evaluation factors and self-development

    Content Analysis of Library Websites of National Institutes in West Bengal, India: An Evaluative Study

    Institute libraries as resource centers and disseminators of information occupy primary place in Institute setup. Library websites integrate it resources and services and has to be taken in designing and developing from perspective of users needs. The present study is concerned with web based content analysis of library websites of Institute of National Importance in West Bengal, India. The required content information has been collected through searching, browsing and analyzing the selected library websites of said Institutes during October to December, 2020. The library websites of studied Institutes were identified from Google, Wikipedia and other E-Resources. Only five Institute libraries of IIM, Kolkata; ISI, Kolkata; IIT, Kharagpur; IIEST, Shibpur and WBNUJS, Kolkata have separate library homepage which are direct accessed by the library users. Remaining other nine studied Institute library websites are accessed through their Institute websites. ISI library, Kolkata got highest total score of 27 out of 40 points ranked with ‘Very Good/Above Average’, followed by IIM library with 23 points ranked with ‘Good/Average’; both IIT and WBNUJS Libraries with 22 points ranked with ‘Good/Average’ and BI Library with 17 points ranked as ‘Good/Average’. Out of fourteen Institute libraries, none of the Institute library website obtained ‘Excellent’ ranked of content analysis on library websites. The main purpose of this study is to guide the Library & Information Science Professionals in improving their existing Institute library websites
